Julia: et Je mappelle Julia. Hello and welcome to the third edition of HOOT. Some things going on this week on hoot are: A puzzling riddle,
Jon: A second step lesson,
Jul: A Movie review,
Jon: of course, your local weather.
Jul: And a look at the HSA....
Jonathan: Talking about the HSA, did you know that there was a meeting this week. Julia, Let's tell our audience a bit about the HSA.
Julia: The HSA stands for the Home and School Association. They organize fun events at the school like assemblies, the pancake breakfast, and Bingo night, to name a few. They also raise money to fund activities like the Art show and the 5th grade Musical. They inform Cynwyd familes about what is going on at Cynwyd school. Our HSA president is Mrs. Beth Johnson.
Jonathan: Well, that sure was interesting! Let's tell our audience what The French word of the week is
Julia: It is...... réunion which means meeting! (clapping)
Jonathan: Yay Julia!
Julia: Hey jonathan
Jonathan: Yeah?
Julia: Why don't we share a second step lesson with everyone.
Jonathan: Allidia and Margarete are at the park.
Julia: Margarete is really bored when she spots a bike her size. Margarete wants to steel the bike and is presurring Allidia to steel the bike with her. Allidia is deciding what to do.
Jonathan: Well Julia I think we should tell the folks what Allidia does a little later.
Julia: Now with the movie review.
Jonathan: This weeks movie review is for Bridge to Terabithia. I would defenetly give that movie * * * *
Julia: Bridge to terabithia is about a boy named Jess. Jess's world goes topsy-turvy when he meets Leslie, a girl with a HUGE imagination. Together, they create their own world, terabithia.
Jonathan: In this world there are giants, trolls, but mostley- ADVENTURE!
Julia: Oh yeah! remeber the problem that Allidia had earlier?
Jonathan: You mean the one where her friend wanted to steel the bike?
Julia: Yeah that one! Well, this is what Allidia does: She tells Margarete that stealing someone elses bike would be wrong. She explaines to Margarete how she might feel if someone stole her bike. Margarete decided that she was right, and dropped the bike.
Jonathan: That's what I would've done if I was in that position. Oh yeah I almost forgot! PSSA's. Today is the last day for the PSSA's. Julia, are you excited that PSSA's are almost over?
Julia: You bet I am! Who isn't?! Do you have riddle for me, Jonathan?
Jon: Actually, I do! The rungs of a 10 foot ladder attached to a ship are 1 foot apart. If the water is rising at the rate of one foot an hour, how long will it take until the water covers over the ladder?...
Jul: I have no Idea.
Jon: It will never cover the ladder because as the water rises, so will the floating ship.
Jul: HAHAHAH I GET IT BECAUSE AND THE WATER AND HAHAHAH
Jonathan: Well that pretty much concludes this weeks episode of hoot

Ilana: and of course the French Phrase of the Week.
Jul: Hey Jonathan, do you have sommething funny for us?
jon: I sure do, how do you put a bear in a frigde?
ilana: that's impossible, a bear will never fit in a fridge
Jon: open the door put the bear in and close the door! (crikets chirping)
Jon: well, how do you put the flamingo in the fridge?
Ilana: Open the door, put in the flamingo in and close the door?
Jon: No, Open the door, take the bear out, put the flamingo in and close the door! (crikets chirping)
Jul: Uuh yeah. Well now that I'm cornified, I think I'll tell the audience about this week's Second Step lesson. Well . . . Kayla is taking her peitite examan- a french test. She's having some trouble with a few questions. The person in the desk next to her has answered the questions already. Is Kayla going to cheat? Ilana, What are her choices?
Ilana: She could cheat. Or she could do it on her own. If she cheats, she could feel guilty or somehow get in trouble. If she does it herself, she'll probably feel a lot better. And besides, what if the person next to her doesn't even have the right answer?
Jul: that's true. Well . . . ., will Kayla's choice be the right one? You'll find out a little later.
Jon: we should tell the audience what the French phrase of the Week is.
All: It is......personage francais
Jul: which means...french character
Jon: wow!
Jul: I like that phrase. It makes me feel hmm whats the word I'm looking for . . . Snazzy! That's it yeah . It makes me feel snazzy.
Jon:Wait just a bubblin' minute! The french festival is next week!
Jul: well why don't we tell the younger grades in the school what the french festival is!
Ilana: OK! The french festival is an exciting event for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades! It will be a blast! You can shop, eat and speak lots of French! especially when you meet all of the personage francais!
Jon: Dont forget your sache, bijou, paluch and livre!
Ilana: Congragulations 2nd grade on your play, Spot a les annimaux it was fantastic!
ILana: now it is time to anouce our second step lesson sulution!
Jul: O goody!
Jon: Kayla....
Jul: decides to finish the petite examan on her own.
ilana: She tried her hardest and got a great score.
Jon: kudos for kayla
Jul: we hope this second step lesson will help you in the future
