Segment 1

JP: Hey Kyra!

KM; Hey Jonathan!

JP: You know, these podcasts always have a French word in them. We need a French Word of The Week...It should be something strange for Halloween...

KM:Oh, I know... guess how to say "hairy finger" in french?

JP:La hariy finger.

KM:No, Le doigt avec sheva

JP: Well, that certainly was a strange one, but it may come in handy if I meet a werewolf on Halloween!

Segment 2

JS: Hey guys, does anyone know WHY we celebrate Halloween?

PJ: Isn't it to get lots of candy and so we can dress up in cool costumes?

JS: No, I mean like where did Halloween start...who were the first people to celebrate it?

JP: Oh...I know! I Know!

JS: How do you know?

JP: Kyra and I did some research online.

JS: So what did you find out?

KM: Well, we found out it started thousands of years ago as an ancient celtic celebration.

PJ: Celtic? What does that mean?

JP: The Celts were people who lived in the areas that are now Ireland, the United Kingdom and Northern France. So if they were Celts, then their celebrations were called Celtic.

PJ: Oh, I get it. What were they celebrating?

KM: They were celebrating the end of summer and the end of the harvest, as well as the beginning of winter.

JP: Yeah and during these celebrations they would were costumes.

KM: That's right and centuries later when immigrants from England and Ireland came to America, they brought those customs with them, helping to make Halloween one of the most popular American holidays.

PJ: You know what one of my favorite parts of Halloween at Cynwyd is?

JS: The candy, right?

PJ: Well yeah that is pretty awesome, but I like that Cynwyd kids get to help others while they trick-or-treat.

KM: We do? Oh yeah...you're right! We do! We can help others with our UNICEF boxes!

PJ: Make sure you remember to take your UNICEF boxes with you while you're trick-or-treating on Halloween!

JS: Yeah because the change you collect can help kids around the world get the things they need like water, medicine, and an education.

JP: I'll make sure I have mine!

KM: Yeah, me too!

JS: After you fill them up, bring them to school so the parent volunteers can send the money to UNICEF so they can help kids around the world who don't have what they need.

Segment 3
PJ:Hey Jordan I've got an awesome Halloween joke,

JS:What is it?

PJ:What is a baby ghosts favorite game?

JS:I don't know.

PJ:Pekaboo

JS:Great joke, Paige! How about this one...What do Skeletons say before eating?

PJ:Ah, Cheers?

JS:No, BONE Appétit.

PJ:Oh, I get it because a skeleton is made of bones.
